// Hair Station //
A hair station is something new we’re doing this year. Last year, It never failed that someone couldn’t find the right hair tie for their hair. The brush was always missing and I’d have to leave the kitchen or a crying baby to help. Part of refining the morning routine is finding areas that need help and addressing them in a way that works for your family!
In search of a solution, I started where I always start, Pinterest. I came up with a system that I think will work for us. When we’re not using it, we will store it in the “command center” of our kitchen. You know, that cabinet where all your random medicine and vitamins and some paperwork it only makes sense to store in the kitchen? Only us?
To contain everything I used a silverware caddy we normally use for birthday parties. Please don’t feel like you have to go out and buy a bunch of stuff! Back to school season is expensive enough. Even if you just put some hair items in a drawer in an area that makes sense for your routine, it’ll make a big difference! So here’s what we included:
- Mister for water to wet the girl’s hair and tame their curls after sleeping on them all night. I am still looking for clean hairspray, help a girl out if you know of any! We don’t use any actual product (beyond shampoo and conditioner) on their hair because it usually just ends up irritating their skin.
- Best Brush Ever! Seriously. It get our tangles without complaining which is pretty dang rare. We all have similar texture, so the one type works for us.
- Hair ties of various sizes, our favorite brand is Scuncci. You can get them pretty much anywhere. We also add clear elastics for “fancy” hairstyles and braids.
- Hair Clips. For bows Eloise likes the sparkly bows from Ryan and Wren and bows from Indy & Pippa. Sophie likes Jojo Bows…. You win some…you lose some.
- Lotion and chapstick. This chapstick is the best. This lotion has five ingredients and you can pronounce them all! DONE!
- I also threw in nail clippers. Once you use clippers with a light, you’ll never go back. Genius.
I realize this is nothing ground breaking! But simplifying your routine in easy ways like this and MAINTAINING it, makes a huge difference in the morning!
